Teatox with Tiny Tea of "YourTea"

There are days when being a natural morning person isn’t enough. I know everyone has their own way of kicking off their day. It's usually a workout and a caffeine fix--like me. I only open my inbox at work when I already have my cup of coffee or tea with me. The tension/pressure/stress I expect from my emails is melted off by every sip! The heat just massages me from the inside.

I’m no black-coffee drinker, I think that’s too boring. I tried it a couple of times before and my heart beat just went through the roof! The palpitations I had made me swear off that kind of “healthy” coffee forever.

Chill, moderate energy is more than enough for me. Thus, the choice for a creamy cup of coffee. The sad thing about this is it makes me feel bloated afterwards. I think it’s all the cream I add. :( Given that, I went through Instagram for possible options on how to perk up my day.. Hopefully, my experience with this tea will help you achieve what you want + more unexpected results. I'll get to the latter in a while :)

I met “YourTea” in Instagram and I stalked them in Pinterest and their blog. It was an exciting discovery for me! I read more about the brand and here goes: It’s an international brand of tea that has tons of benefits, more than what a normal blend will have. The people behind YourTea are like us—tea drinkers. They have been creating tea combinations that will balance taste + benefits (the latter I was talking about earlier).

I want you to meet someone--
Natalie Kringoudis is an ambassador of YourTea. She is a Doctor of Chinese Medicine, Natural Fertility Educator and Author. As a way to support wellness, she has developed a unique style to treating health and well-being with Traditional Chinese Medicine. She helps YourTea provide its drinkers education on diet and lifestyle to maximise the benefits of the tea blend.

I’m really only after the energy boost but if it eases my bloated tummy, then give it to me! I experienced how good it was for me so I am writing about it, sharing the wonder, and willing you to try it out :)

Here’s a list of their tea blends and the benefits they give you:

—> TINY TEA (reduces bloating, removes toxins, improves energy levels, and nudges away any surplus weight)
—> EVERYDAY TEA (boosts immunity, regulates mood, aids digestion and allows the skin to have the healthy glow we all crave)
—> ANTIOXIDANT TEA (the antioxidants assists with anti-ageing, fights free-radicals, and detoxifies the body)
—> BREAST FRIEND TEA (nourishes the liver and activates the kidneys to support the body in producing a healthy supply of strong, nutrient loaded breast milk)
—> SKIN MAGIC TEA (nourishes and cleanses the system so that the body won’t have to push out toxins and waste through the skin; nourishes the blood to better assist the removal of internal toxins)
—> MAN TEA (nourishes the organs, promotes muscle growth, and increases strength; combats the signs of bloating and fluid retention to achieve a greater muscular definition)
—> FERTILITY TEA (supports the hormones, benefits ovulation, and regulates the woman’s cycle to maximize fertility and conception potential)
—> ANTI-C TEA (assists in cleansing the kidneys and liver to help the body lift stagnant dampness and phlegm)

YourTea offers a 14-day and 28-day teatox program that won’t leave you starving. I purchased their 28-day teatox box of Tiny Tea wherein it’s recommended to have a cup of tea twice a day, 20-30 mins before/after a meal. It is easier for me to drink it after a meal since planning to drink before a meal isn't always a success. I don't know what time I'll really get to eat, being busy with work and personal errands.

By the way, I bought my box from TeatoxPH, a distributor of YourTea in the Philippines.
*They’re really professional and makes the transactions easier for buyers. If you choose to try this out, contact them! :)

Trust me when I say this:
You won't starve. Drinking this won't be a hassle. You can retain how you eat, just add the tea on your daily food intake. It will make you feel full since it’s warm water. Every time I have a cup, I feel like it’s melting (or maybe “digesting” is a better term, but really, who feels “digesting”?) the food I just had. In a good way. I feel a bit lighter after!

Mom noticed how clear my skin was days after starting the teatox. She, of all people, doesn’t sugarcoat stuff about me. If she says something nice, she means it! I haven’t changed anything in my lifestyle, no facials, no special juices or whatnot. Just the teatox and my usual morning exercise. So plus points to YourTea! :)

A significant thing I noticed after taking the tea for 2-3 weeks was whenever I have an unhealthy meal (fast food junk, instant noodles—both I love but both are so bad for me), drinking the tea makes me wish that I took more time in choosing a better meal. The tea taught my body what it needs, what it should love, what it should flush out ASAP. It teaches me to be more self-aware, to give more time in deciding what’s best for me, giving my body what it needs and, at the same time, satisfies my cravings.

mind wanders || how you can catch stress

It's Friday and I'm at home, spending the night blogging, reading and simply enjoying the quiet.
This is something valuable to me since I always have people around me at work. I like them but being a natural introvert, I enjoy solitude.

If you've read through my 2-months worth of blog posts, you would have guessed that I love reading. It does wonders for me. Educating myself and sharing whatever tidbit I learned is a constant goal that delights me. So I want to share it in my little part of the web. :)

Stress is a huge issue for me. I experience it constantly and I try to find ways to learn more about it so I deal with it more effectively. This article from Huffington Post, opened my eyes to a whole new perspective on stress.

Maybe I'm not just reading wide enough but I've always thought that stress is self-controlled. That's it is within us and that if we're strong and vigilant enough, we can be clean of it. But then after reading the article, it made me rethink what I believe in.

According to the article, empathy is a factor. It's about how empathy can be a neutral characteristic instead of being solely positive, like many of us think. Myself included. I salute empathy since it's not easy to put oneself in another's shoe. Now that I'm a bit older experienced, I realized that the article has a point. Empathy can also work with giving yourself secondary stress since "the other person's shoe" can be stressful.

You can read the other factors, more or less related to the first one, here.

I think this unique explanation just shows how social humans are. We not only depend on each other, but we affect one another unconsciously. This creates a responsibility for us to not only live for ourselves but ultimately, for a bigger purpose that is beyond ourselves. Everyday, try to be the influencer, the one with the good vibes. Fight for the good side of empathy and it will reward you right back.

Good or bad, that's fascinating, don't you think? What are your thoughts about stress showcased this way? Leave your comments below. :)

After reading the article, you might want to see a few tips how to avoid second hand stress. Here, then. You're welcome. ;)

message in a bottle: being alone

via
In this busy world where you can be with anyone anytime, having some moments alone by yourself is scarce. Sometimes, it can be at the bottom of our list of priorities. Most of the time, we simply try to avoid it.

A lot of the people I get to talk with often dislike doing things when they cannot have another person to come along with them. They prefer to not eat than eat alone at work, especially during lunch time when it seems everyone has a lunch buddy. They prefer to not go shopping alone since the idea of not speaking to anyone while walking will make them look pathetic. It's like the high school peer pressure all over again.

I understand how they feel. I really do. There are times when I have something going on in my life and I just cannot be alone in public. It's too much personal turmoil for me. I get the bursts of loneliness and self consciousness. I have thoughts that maybe people are looking at me, wondering why I'm by myself. But let me assure you, they don't. They can't care less.

I always stress just how important it is to have that independence even without your friends to serve as social comfort. There's no running away from your own thoughts, missus. It takes so much emotional peace to be able to do it constantly. Now that's something to work for! :)

I used to have a big group of girlfriends that served as a status symbol for us. Once you're in, you're defined by your similarities and not by your uniqueness. I wasn't my own person. High school and college were that way. I can't shake the constant feeling of emptiness and being lost. I know I should have done something to fix that but I didn't. I was socially scared. But then when I started working, earning by myself, entering the corporate world.. I realized that the thing I needed is to know myself. I can only do that through being alone.

You simply have to have your alone time. Read a book, sweat it out, have a massage, watch people from a distance, take a class to improve yourself. Do things for you. You can do a lot of things on your own, for you. The silence helps you think on your own, without a third person. The solitude molds you into knowing what you want. It brings you to a whole new understanding of yourself that you just cannot have when there's another perspective pestering you.

When you're on your own, it doesn't mean that you have to be sad. It doesn't mean that people pity you. It just shows that you have your own foundation. Your own strength.

Try it.

The Spa

Once you're in the city, you're near a lot of distractions that it's considered a luxury to just have the chance to shut the world out. There are times when I want the sheer silence of being alone and just relaxing. Not always, but sometimes.

I make myself feel better about the splurge by thinking about it this way: it's one of the ways to love yourself. To show yourself that you are worth that extra splurge once a month. It really is gratifying to be able to treat yourself for something that you experience rather than something you wear (though that's good too!).

It's a good thing my favorite spa is just a hundred peso cab ride away from home.
The Spa is probably the only place I can really let go of anything. It's pretty private so no worries about chatty spa goers or therapists. It has a jacuzzi, showers, sauna, and a whole lot of rooms to fit your taste and budget.
Plus: they have the best ginger tea! I can have up to 3 servings in one visit. I'm not shy in asking for more. Again it's a splurge, so I take advantage of all the "complimentary" stuff I can get! :)
